Pinteresting Ideas #3

One of the most fun and valuable things I found on Pinterest were blogs on hairstyles and braids.  My 5 year old daughter and I both have long hair and definitely needed some new ideas to get away from the daily (lazy, easy) ponytail.  I found some great ideas here:

Here are some of the results of the styles I tried on my daughter:

I don't usually have much time in the mornings for doing her hair, but we are starting to mix in a few new ones when we do have time.  Browse through some of the blogs if you are interested.  Some are even on facebook so you can just click through their pictures pretty quickly to get a few ideas.

I'm currently working on a few organizational and cooking projects I will share soon!

Getting Started- Pinteresting Ideas #1 and #2

This is my first attempt at blogging, so please excuse any mistakes (I am sure I will make plenty!) I am planning on blogging on a variety of things, including life, organization, children, photography and DIY projects and crafts. I am working on getting motivated to do some minor home improvements, learn to sew, and becoming that do-it-all mom I SO want to be.  I am currently addicted to Pinterest and have gotten so many great ideas!  I am using this blog as a way to document, share and hopefully motivate myself and others to GET THINGS DONE! I am the queen of best intentions, but do not always manage to complete all the projects I set out to do!  Here is one of my first attempts to implement some Pinteresting ideas:

I saw a picture of a baby in a pumpkin on Pinterest and just knew: I have to do this! My youngest daughter, Ashlyn is 4 months old.  I have been using Pinterest and Facebook to get ideas and tips for photographing my children.  One day I hope to take a photography class!  For now, I just enjoy recording fun memories for my family.

I MADE the headband following an online tutorial I found on Pinterest! (YAY!) It is a 5-strand braid made using pieces of an old T-shirt!  I love the idea of repurposing old things to make something fun and new! It took a few tries to get it right, then I added a silk flower I got from a wedding favor.  You can find the tutorial here:

Unfortunately, I am not so creative on my own, but my plan is to use online tutorials and such to make things other generous and creative people have shared for my home and family! Future projects will include some home organization and fun holiday ideas.

Motivation is hard to find sometimes, and life seems to get in the way, but I am committed to completing some projects and improving my home in fun and creative ways!
